When Sass Hogan catches her boyfriend slow-dancing and doing the tongue-tango with Tori Double-D-Cup Hunter, she pays him back the only way she knows how—by taking a tire iron to his beloved ’67 Mustang Fastback. There’s only one problem. She’s destroyed the wrong car. Jordan Michaels wants his car fixed, now, and he wants Sass’s auto body shop to do it. But the handsome blond has a secret−he’s really Jordan Carlyle of Carlyle’s Classics, Hogan’s biggest competitor, and he’s determined to prove himself to his family. As Sass and Jordan get to know each other, the depth of the attraction has them falling in love. But a relationship based on lies will only leave them primed for the worst wreck of their lives.

Q: Welcome to The Writer's Life, Daire. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how long you’ve been writing?

A: I am the mother of two wonderful girls, two poorly trained dogs, two OCD cats and the wife of only one (thank God) husband. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember with notebooks filled with stories going back never-you-mind years. However, I have been writing seriously for eight years.

Q: Can you please tell us about your book and why you wrote it?

A: Mustang Sassy was first inspired by the song, Before He Cheats, by Carrie Underwood. Anyone who’s ever been betrayed by a lover gets that song. My thought process went something like this: most people might want to smash their cheating ex-boyfriend’s car, but it would take someone special (or with a few screws loose) to actually go through with it. Thus, my character Sass Hogan—the fiery auto body mechanic—was born. Then I thought, what if, in her rage, Sass accidentally smashes the wrong car and the rightful owner (who just happens to be in town under false pretenses) expects her to fix it? That is how the story opens.

Q: What were some of the biggest challenges you faced writing it?

A: While I love classic cars—my high school sweetheart drove a ’67 Mustang Fastback and taught me to drive stick shift on a ’59 Dodge Fargo truck—I don’t know a thing about the mechanics of cars. Much of the story takes place in an auto body shop, so I had a lot to learn. I subscribed to hot rod magazines and pored over the DIY sections, trying to figure out how a person would actually go about putting a car back together. For those who are truly car experts, please forgive my inaccuracies!

Q: Have you either spoken to groups of people about your book or appeared on radio or TV?  What are your upcoming plans for doing so?

A: Not at the moment.

Q: Do you have an agent and, if so, would you mind sharing who he/is is?  If not, have you ever had an agent or do you even feel it’s necessary to have one?

A: I have explored the option of finding an agent for many years. As publishing changes, the role of an agent is changing. I’m currently in talks with an agent and together we are trying to determine what our relationship might look like if we were to go forward.

Q: Did you, your agent or publisher prepare a media blitz before the book came out and would you like to tell us about it?

A: I am doing a blog publicity tour and am giving away a Kindle Paperwhite at the end of it. The details of which can be found here: http://www.pumpupyourbook.com/2014/02/16/pump-up-your-book-presents-mustang-sassy-virtual-book-publicity-tour-win-a-kindle-paperwhite/

Q: Do you plan subsequent books?

A: Yes, I plan to write the story of Sass’s best friend, Libby. Libby works at the local drugstore and sells sex toys online to supplement her income. She is a stable influence in Sass’s life, or at least, that’s what Sass thinks. The truth is, Libby is a fraud in more ways than one, and her stability is a façade to hide her fear that she will, at any moment, succumb to the mental illness that runs in her family.
