Welcome to The Writer's Life, Stephen. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your book?
My book, Katka, is the story of a young American man who gets involved in the mail order bride business based on a scam that his girlfriend sets up. He ends up selling his own girlfriend. It's a story of love versus greed, the dark side of life, with an ending that leaves many blown away.

I wrote it because I think it's a very intriguing topic, one that not a lot of people talk about, or even know about. Yet, it happens in our own backyard. Plus, I think everyone has a dark side whether or not they want to admit it or not. My book questions and challenges "society's norms" and leaves the reader asking themselves what they would do.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced writing it?

Wondering if any of it was any good! Seriously, there would be days when I would reread some passages and just want to delete the whole thing! Then there would be days that I would really like it and struggle with how much more to add or go deeper on. I say that because I think my style is very different from others, as I want the reader to be very involved, fill in some of the details for themselves. There aren't a lot of books out there like that.
Do you have a press kit and what do you include in it? Does this press kit appear online and, if so, can you provide a link to where we can see it?

No, unfortunately I don't. I do have promotional items, such as postcards and bookmarks. Wow, this is probably something I should have huh? Haha.
Have you either spoken to groups of people about your book or appeared on radio or TV? What are your upcoming plans for doing so?

I have not done any radio or TV, but have done some webcasts and blogs, that were very fun. Plus, I did a book club! That was so much fun, and I really hope to actually do more of those, as interacting with those who have read my book is an amazing experience for me.

Thank you for your interview, Stephen. Would you like to tell my readers where they can find you on the web and how everyone can buy your book?

Yes, thank you. You can pick my book up at Amazon.com or my website, stephenrossmeier.com, where if you buy it from there using PayPal, I'll sign it and mail it out myself!

It's a pleasure knowing something more about the author of Katka, a book I've happened to pick up at Amazon intrigued by its cover, a heart meeting money, and I have to say, sometimes you can judge a book from its cover. I say that because I found in Katka all the right ingredients that make amazing a book: money, sex, love, anger and passion. That's why when you read the frantic dialogues and follow the actions of every single character, page after page, you can be totally sure to be in very good company.
