Who We Are

Thanks for stopping by!  The Writer's Life is your one stop place for finding out how to write and how to publish what you write.  We are six eclectic book promoters always on the search for new tips on helping the writer get their book to the published state and then promoting it thereafter.  Most of us are tour coordinators for Pump Up Your Book, an award-winning book publicity agency. Others freelance and are invited to write here.  If you are a tour coordinator, publicist or publisher or author and are interested in publishing interviews, guest posts or book promo with us, drop us a line in the comments.  Sorry we had to take off the contact page because of spammy interests.

The Writer's Life blog was started back in 2005 and is syndicated in major publications such as USA Today, Reuters, Chicago Sun Times and others.  While we can't guarantee that your interview or guest post will be picked up by any of those publications, the option is still there for reporters to find you and publish your submission.  We have had many articles end up in those publications over the years.

We also give you the author an opportunity to have your book promoted in our sidebar.  Please click here to find out more information.

The Writer's Life offers you author interviews, guest posts, the latest books on the market, how to write articles, how to promote your book articles, and so much more.  Please sign up for our feed in the right hand sidebar!

I would love to be interviewed for your blog. I'm an indie author whose first book is an homage to my late mother. It's entitled "Pearl's Party...and you're invited" and it chronicles eight wacky decades of her life, including her unconventional businesses, her 1959 divorce and her colorful gay friends. She was a regular Auntie Mame and she left behind a lot of "stuff" (ephemera and artifacts) as cues to help me remember or learn more about her after she was gone. You'll find me at pearlsparty.wordpress.com Thanks!

  5. I would love to introduce a book that my mom and I have written via a guest blog or interview. It is a story that will leave you feeling good.

My Zany Life: Growing Up in a Rooming House

    https://www.amazon.com/My-Zany-Life-Growing-Rooming-ebook/dp/B01ERZFHQA

    Book description:
Ever wonder what it would be like to live in a rooming house? Then read on, as our heroine describes her memories of growing up in her family’s rooming house in a swanky West Toronto neighborhood, surrounded by a cast of eccentric characters.

Many people think it’s tragic to grow up in a poor neighborhood, but the author assures us it is equally tragic growing up in a rich neighborhood, when you are poor.

Together, a mother and a daughter gather their memories of a life full of happiness, sadness, and many hilarious moments, proving that hindsight not only is 20/20, but can also turn calamity into comedy.

The book takes us back in history to a small village in Croatia where her mother is introduced to a 1964 Ford Galaxy XL that has followers, stalkers, and even worshippers. Then she meets the man behind the wheel, and what ensues proves that reality actually is stranger than fiction.

This book will make you laugh, will make you cry, and will teach you that despite the sadness we all must face, the overall result can be a happy life. May it help you live life to the fullest with friends and family while you can, knowing that “time really is of the essence.”

  6. Dear All!
The Key To Cabo has been called "a damn good read."
It has come to our attention that you are open to reviewing new fiction.
Viveca Smith Publishing is proud to present our new thriller The Key to Cabo by author Dave Harrold.
    See the cover at www.keytocabo.com

Our book is available in epub, pdf, and mobi format. You can find us on www.netgalley.com and www.edelweiss.abovethetreeline.com. If requested, we can send you the book or file.

Author Dave Harrold’s unlikely motorcycle-riding hero returns in this contemporary, high-spirited thriller, the second book in the Rock Pounder series.

Danger is a way of life for Rock Pounder, so when the DEA asks him to recover $250 million in drug money hidden somewhere in Mexico, the 10% finder’s fee makes the risk worthwhile for Rock and his team. But when his beautiful publisher Penelope Dickens Frost finds herself in possession of a key that leads to the drug money, he finds trouble on more levels than he ever expected.

Penelope is one of the only women who hasn’t immediately fallen for Rock’s charms, but things heat up as the two of them race across the Mexican desert on Rock’s dirt bike, with drug lord El Raton in hot pursuit.

From Dallas to Cabo San Lucas and into mainland Mexico, Rock and Penelope follow the money trail, with Rock’s unique team aiding in the escapade. But someone on the inside is betraying them. And publisher Penelope Dickens Frost proves to be almost more than even Rock Pounder can handle in this high octane thriller, the second book in the Rock Pounder series.

Hey! I recently published a historical fantasy book about Elizabeth Tudor, and I would love to be featured on your site in some capacity. The book is about young Elizabeth, who comes to realize that she has magical powers that were given to her by her mother before she was murdered by her father. Her gifts take her on quests that will change England's future forever.

It has been released once, but the second edition will be released in January. I would love to collaborate with you on an author interview or book review. Thank you for your time!

  9. Hi. My name is D. Alyce Domain. I'm an Indie Author and a book blogger. I offer reviews and promos on my blog...as well as promoting my own writing. I would love to have either one of my two books promoted on your site. I would like to be considered for an author interview. Both books are romances. "Dominic's Nemesis" is a Gothic paranormal romance in a historical setting and it's gotten great reviews on GoodReads and Amazon. My second novel, "When Lucifer Met Calamity" is a Contemporary comedic office Romance...very light-hearted and fun...not as many reviews, but all positive.

  14. How's it going The Writers Life,

My names John Roselli, my author name is Mr. Roses.

I just checked out your page, looks great and I picked up a few insights.

If you’re still doing author interviews I would love to participate in one.

I have created the character 'Mr. Roses' who is an educator aiming to encourage the growth mindset and positive thought patterns.

Mr. Roses wears a suit, a fedora and rose boutonnière. He has created 5 children's books expressed in graphic novel format, written in a rhythmic writing style.

Each book teaches 3 critical lessons on success at the end worksheet 'The Mr. Roses Section'. It also has reading comprehension questions, attention to detail questions and a word search game.

Here is his website if you are interested in more information: HouseOfRoses.org

Hope to hear back from you.

    Have a nice day,
    - John

  16. Hello, my name is Jeffrey David Montanye, or just Jeff, if you'd like. I've self-published several books, but just recently published my first YA novel, which I am very excited about. I've been through a lot of the self-publishing madness since my first book in 2006, which I stupidly ordered 5,000 copies from Hong Kong, not knowing what I was doing. I've learned a lot since then, and would love the opportunity to talk about it. Look me up: http://www.jeffreydmontanye.com.

  17. Hello thewriterslife team,

    How have you been?

Hope this message finds you well.

Over the last 8 years, I’ve been working on a new book titled "In Our Thirties: Insights and Expert Advice for This Decade and Beyond".

This non-fiction work is an insightful hybrid: part memoir, part anthology. Drawing on nearly a decade of research, In Our Thirties features my insights as a life coach & speaker and expert contributors on topics such as: People, Health, Spirit, Work, Money, and Living, together with more than fifty personal essays by thirtysomethings from around the world.

I’m excited to announce that it’s going to be available on Amazon on July 16th!

I’d love your help with a review on your blog and/or Amazon. May I send you a free digital copy of my book to read? All I ask is that you leave your honest feedback/thoughts as a reader at your earliest convenience.

I would also be glad if you'd be interested in having me for an author interview if you'd like. Here's the link to the book trailer as well: https://youtu.be/NMrY3SSgvJw

I’d be happy to send you a digital copy that you can read on any of your devices.
Let me know your thoughts, and if you have any questions.

  21. my latest book, "Happier Made Simple: Choose Your Words. Change Your Life." was born out of frustration with "happiness" titles that were too complicated, my own boredom in meditation class, and the number of times I was asked the question: "you've been through so much - how do you stay so positive?". I whittled it down to Seven Core Concepts and Phrases, with stories and humor. Official launch date Feb. 23!

  23. Hello –
Sara and I are celebrating our 100th Amazon Review by giving away a signed copy of our vital book ($100 value, details at http://www.stloiyf.com). Also, we will keep our generous affiliate program (http://www.stloiyf.com/#affiliate) open to new partnerships for a little while longer. If TWL wants to join us as an affiliate, we require a brief preliminary phone or video call. If someone would like to read my second book, http://www.oais.us, which launched just months ago, perhaps I can send a complimentary PDF file. My books are not "fun" to read; rather, the first saves lives, and the second is a crucial cautionary tale. I am actually giving away both versions of Our American Injustice System—paperback and eBook—to any organizations/entities that are trying to raise funding. Have a great week and...

    Very Best Regards,

Hi, Writers Life! My publicist at IFWG Publishing probably hasn’t contacted you about a possible interview - he doesn’t really belong in the bookblogging world! - so I’m doing it myself. I’m a YA fantasy author, and I’ve had 17 novels published. I’ve won 6 Aurealis Awards (Australia’s Nebulas), the Prix Tam Tam du Livre Jeunesse in France, and now the Reader Views Silver Seal Award for Teen Fiction in the US. The Silver Seal Award is for Book 1 in The Ferren Trilogy, titled Ferren and the Angel, and Book 2, Ferren and the Doomsday Mission comes out in July. I was with Simon & Schuster (US) for Worldshaker and its sequels, but now I’m with Indie publisher, IFWG, which sells globally, but especially into the US.
I'd be very interested in doing an interview for The Writer's Life, and I'm sure I can persuade my publisher to supply an excerpt from Doomsday Mission. I was a full-time professor in English before I swapped to full-time author, and there's one side of my head that loves thinking about the writing process (my 145-page writing tips website is at www.writingtips.com.au). Plus, I have a very unusual story in my path to publication, and my latest Ferren Trilogy has its own very unusual story too!
My email for contact is - author@ferren.com.au
