Co-Op, is a mainstream novel about the lives of people inhabiting a New York City cooperative apartment building.

Queen of Knights, a medieval fantasy, and The Others were stories of fantasy and science fiction.

In 1988, David was honored by science fiction writer and Hugo Award Grand Master Andre Norton, who, after reading Queen of Knights, asked David to write a short story for inclusion in her Andre Norton’s Tales From The Witch World 2 Anthology Series.

David also wrote the novelization of the 7 day ABC miniseries, The Last Days Of Pompeii.

David lives in Chestnut Ridge, NY, with his wife Bonnie and their sub-standard poodle, Alfie.

When over 4000 people world-wide died after taking a cure for cancer, the drug was recalled. But the questions kept coming. Was it contamination? Was it sabotage? Or,was it outright murder by an insane research scientist in retaliation against the pharmaceutical giant he worked for and to avenge the death of his wife?

And everyone wanted Doctor Donald Brockman! The lawyers wanted answers; the FDA wanted answers and, Homeland Security wanted the doctor!

When the 911 code flashed across her beeper, Doctor Kira Brockman went cold. The one thing she had been dreading had happened and her life as she knew it had been changed, and the change was for the worst!

The wrong people had found her father!

She knew she had very little time to get out of the hospital, to find her brother and to run before Homeland Security and the FBI found them, and they were not the only ones: the lawyers who were in the midst of a huge class action suit against the international pharmaceutical manufacturing giant who had sold the cancer cure wanted her and the evidence she had as well as the lethal security team from the drug company who was trying to stop Kira Brockman from disclosing the evidence only she could get—evidence that would save her father—and they would use any means necessary to stop her.

And so begins a heart stopping cross country race to save her father’s life and prove he was not responsible for the deaths of 4000 people—The Cured—who had survived cancer because of his medication and then inexplicitly died from the very cure he’d created.

Q: Welcome to The Writer's Life, David. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how long you’ve been writing?

A: Well, I’ve been writing since 1979, and have published 35 novels. I love writing thrillers, detective stories and, sci-fi. I am married to my best friend, have 3 kids and a brand new grandson. My son Zach is my eldest and the sound engineer on the show 48 Hours, my daughter Devon, is an Elementary Special Ed teacher, and my youngest, Alana, is graduating the CIA in January. (No, not that CIA, the Culinary Institute of America.

Q: Can you please tell us about your book and why you wrote it?

A: How do you describe a thriller without revealing that which makes it exciting and suspenseful? I don’t know… The Cured is a legal, medical thriller that takes its divergent characters on a roller coaster chase across the country in an effort to save lives and stop a horrendous act of bio/medical terrorism. In the process, the life of every character is forever changed.

Q: What were some of the biggest challenges you faced writing it?

A: Because The Cured is a legal thriller and a medical thriller and a terrorism thriller, finding the right scientific technology was the only way to make the overall concept work. It took a while, but the research paid off and what happens in The Cured, could, in fact, happen in the real world.

Q: Do you have a press kit and what do you include in it? Does this press kit appear online and, if so, can you provide a link to where we can see it?

A: http://www.thecurednovel.com is our website and press kit for this novel.

Q: Have you either spoken to groups of people about your book or appeared on radio or TV? What are your upcoming plans for doing so?

A: We will be doing a full virtual media book tour beginning 11/11/2013.

Q: Do you have an agent and, if so, would you mind sharing who he/is is? If not, have you ever had an agent or do you even feel it’s necessary to have one?

A: I have no agent presently and yes, I have had an agent in the past, in fact 2 agents. When my first agent retired, I moved on; however, after three books, the agent and I parted ways. In some ways having an agent is important, in other ways, learning the ins and outs, the publishers and the editors is not a bad thing for a writer to do.

Q: Did you, your agent or publisher prepare a media blitz before the book came out and would you like to tell us about it?

A: Social Media as well. Terese and I have been using Social Media to let the readers know about The Cured.

Q: Do you plan subsequent books?

A: Always. I usually have several ideas on the back burner and write synopses for them so I when I revisit these ideas, I can tell whether they are just thoughts or something I can get my teeth into and write. I am working on two such ideas: The first, with Terese, is a follow up to The Cured, using one of the main characters from the novel. The second is a story set in the U.S. in the far distant future, based on what is happening, geo-politically around the world today.

Q: Thank you for your interview, David, Would you like to tell my readers where they can find you on the web and how everyone can buy your book?

A: The Cured can be found on almost every eBook retailer, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple iBooks, Smashwords, Kobo, etc. The print version is available from Amazon.com
