About the Book:

Born into a long line of spies, sanctioned killers and covert weapons developers, Beth Faraday carried out her first hit-for-hire when she was still a teenager.

That part of her life—the American spy royalty part—ended one year ago, with a job gone wrong in Afghanistan. The collateral damage she caused with a single shot was unfathomable and, for Beth, unforgiveable. She’s worked hard to build a new life for herself, far away from the family business. But someone, somewhere, hasn’t forgotten what Beth did in Kabul. And they want revenge.

As the Faraday clan bands together to defend Beth and protect their legacy, Beth is forced to flee her new home with the unlikeliest of allies—MI6 agent Raleigh Vick, the only man she’s ever loved. And the one she thought she’d killed in the desert.

Q: Welcome to The Writer's Life!  Now that your book has been published, we’d love to find out more about the process.  Can we begin by having you take us at the beginning?  Where did you come up with the idea to write your book?

Blamed started life as a weekly serial back on my website in 2011, under the title “In Her Sights.” I got seven chapters in before losing interest entirely and putting it on my backburner, but I never forgot about the concept that I had initially loved—a former-assassin heroine and the British-spy hero she thought she’d killed in the Middle East. Thank goodness I had the opportunity to come back to the Faradays for Harlequin Carina Press.

Q: How hard was it to write a book like this and do you have any tips that you could pass on which would make the journey easier for other writers?

Any book you write is going to be difficult. One of the hardest parts for me, always, is finding the time, as I work a high-demand day job and try to maintain a personal life, too. My only tip is to make sure you, as a writer, very clearly know your priorities and stick to them.

Q: What other books (if any) are you working on and when will they be published?

The second book in the Blood Money series will be out in late spring of 2015—Tobias’s story. The cover, back-cover copy, and an excerpt will be posted in the not-too-distant future.

Q: What’s your favorite place to hang out online?

I’m an avid Twitter user, and I’m not on Facebook at all—personally or professionally. Twitter is the best place to connect with me.

Edie is giving away one digital copy of Blamed (formats available: PDF & ePub), ‘I Only Kiss Spies’ t-shirt, ‘Lincoln Park After Dark’ OPI nail polish and one bag of Van Houtte ‘Belgian Chocolate’ ground coffee!·
